Wendy Brightbill is a mixed media artist, creative innovator and teacher. She began her creative journey in 2010 after a car accident and traumatic brain injury. Since that time, Wendy has launched her creative business in order to share her art and experience with others. She operates her Etsy shop, A Girl and Her Brush, and sells her prints and originals internationally. Wendy also teaches online courses at class.wendybrightbill.studio and travels several times a year to teach in person workshops. She used to be a kindergarten teacher before her car accident and now uses her love for teaching in a very different way through sharing her passion for art with her students.
Wendy prides herself on being a true mixed media artist and works in a variety of different mediums. She loves to innovate how she uses mediums and techniques. At any given time, she is working in several different mediums and constantly challenging herself as an artist. Over her short art career, Wendy has worked in watercolors, acrylics, inks, collage, digital illustration, photography, drawing, and oil paints. She is excited to now be able to incorporate her stencil designs into her art and to teach others how to incorporate stencils into mixed media work.
Wendy believes that art-making heals. She believes in embracing the process and letting go of the end product. She believes that beauty is a necessity and that we paint what we need the most in our lives.
