Jill McDowell is a self-taught artist who’s passionate about mixed media, exploring different art genres, experimenting with new techniques, and transforming what she’s learned into her own eclectic style. She loves challenging herself to use stencils in new ways across a variety of substrates and mediums. Nothing makes her happier than being immersed amongst ink pads, paint bottles, and snippets of paper in her “cozy” art studio in Connecticut. Jill’s creative energy reawakened from a long sleep in 2015. Now inspiration that emanated from crazed heirloom China, an antique lamp, and scraps of vintage wallpaper appear in her stencil designs and art journal pages.
In addition to being addicted to creativity, Jill creates for StencilGirl®️ Products and The Artist Tribe at Gwen Lafleur Studios and her work has also appeared in Cloth, Paper, Scissors magazine. She has a full-time career as a college administrator and enjoys concert hopping with her husband and snuggling with her two dogs. Keep up with Jill on Instagram, her blog, or on Facebook.
