The exclusive StencilClub stencil collection for September 2015 is designed by encaustic artist Julie Snidle. She's long had a love of written language forms, starting with a burning desire to learn cursive when she was in grade school. Of this month's stencils, Julie says, "I was stunned and saddened to learn recently that cursive writing has been eliminated from the public school curriculum. My fondness for those written marks got me thinking about other forms of language that have disappeared or are seldom used in our modern lives." Thus the collection was born! We're thrilled with the designs for morse code (4x4,) shorthand (6x6,) and the old computer punch cards (9x12.)
Here are Mary Beth and Julie to introduce this month's stencils and tell you more about them.
