Unalome Words was designed by Kecia Deveney to illustrate symbols of enlightenment. Historically, unalomes are
thought to have originated from ancient India and have been found in both Hindu
and Buddhist writings. More modernly, they have evolved into sacred body art.
Kecia says: "Artistically I love to draw them; creating spiritually charged symbols. I liked
the idea of adding power words to the Unalome to give them a mixed media feel." These symbols are wonderful for incorporation into paintings, journal pages, cardmaking, and even embroidery. See Kecia's videos below for inspiration, and be sure to check out the second stencil in the Unalome collection: Mystic Unalomes (L896).
