Wendy Aikin is an artist, teacher and designer living and working on the central coast of California. Her chosen mediums are encaustic and assemblage. After a professional career in finance and many years working for a non-profit, Wendy, along with her partners Judy Stabile and Daniella Woolf founded Wax Works West, a school for the encaustic arts. They have taught well over 800 students in their school, produced the instructional DVD "Encaustic + Paper," and speak and demonstrate at national and international venues.
Wendy trained at West Valley College, U. C. Santa Cruz, and R & F Paint in New York. She is an active member of the International Encaustic Artists, Pajaro Valley Arts Council, The Museum of Art & History and Art League Santa Cruz. She has received several awards for her encaustic work, and spends her days in the studio "getting waxy!"
