Orly Avineri truly believes that the need to be witnessed by the self and by others is a human-core-need to be fulfilled by the act of creating. Therefore, a compelling part of her journey is the teaching of visual journaling in workshops and art retreats in the US and abroad. As a young adult in Israel, Orly had studied Fine Arts in an artists' village nestled at the foot of Mount Carmel overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, and later, in the Netherlands, Graphic Design at the University of Arts in the contemporary yet history-drenched city of Utrecht. Now living by the beach of Southern California with her family, she blends all the landscapes that shaped her and the visual languages she had acquired along the way in her present creative processes. Orly is the independent publisher and the author of her books One Artist Journal, based on her vibrant blog bearing the same title, and more recently of her title 14 Artist Journals, a wondrous grouping of journal pages from fourteen impassioned individuals.
